Packers Game

Coming off of their Week 4 bye, the 2-1 Green Bay Packers will play host to the 2-2 New York Giants this week. Prior to their off week, Aaron Rodgers got the Packers’ offense back on track in a 34-27 victory over the Detroit Lions.

That being said, most of that production came in the first half. Rodgers is still one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, but this offense has been far too inconsistent. Was their first half performance against the Lions a sign of things to come, or will they continue to struggle to score points like they did in the first half of that game?

A matchup against the New York Giants’ defense might just be what the doctor ordered. The Giants are an improved defense from last season, but devastating injuries in their secondary is hurting them mightily.

Packers Game

It depends on who suits up for the Giants on Sunday, but I expect Janoris Jenkins to defend Jordy Nelson in this game. This could create a ton of opportunity for Randall Cobb, who will be lined up against what is left of the Giants’ secondary.

The key to this game when the Packers have the ball will be the pass rush. Can Olivier Vernon and Jason Pierre-Paul create pressure on Rodgers? They are a dynamic duo of pass rushers, and the Packers’ offensive line has struggled to protect their star quarterback this season.

The Packers’ defense has played well this season. They are one of the best teams against the run in the entire NFL. The Giants will not have many opportunities to run the ball against Green Bay, but they can be beaten through the air.

This game will come down to whether Eli Manning, Odell Beckham and the rest of the Giants’ receivers can make enough plays in the passing game. If we see bad Eli and head case Beckham, the Giants will be in trouble.

However, if they come out and play like they are capable, the Giants have a real shot to win this game.

This Sunday Night Football matchup will be televised live on NBC. However, there is a live online streaming option available as well. Here are all of the details you need for Packers vs Giants.

This should be an extremely fun game between NFC contenders. Who will come out on top? Be sure to catch this game live to find out.

The Green Bay Packers Game and Detroit Lions Game will help kick off the NFL Week 3 Sunday slate of games in an NFC North battle between two 1-1 teams. Both teams came away with impressive Week 1 wins, but suffered devastating losses in Week 2.

Green Bay’s 17-14 loss to the Minnesota Vikings was particularly tough. The Vikings kept Aaron Rodgers and the Packers’ offense in check throughout this game. Now, there is plenty of worry about their ability to score points. As always, a lot is being put on Rodgers’ shoulders this season. Eddie Lacy and the Packers’ rushing attack have been little help and their offensive line has struggled to protect.

That being said, the Lions’ secondary leaves plenty to be desired. Rodgers should be in a good position to get his season back on track this week. I also expect Rodgers’ favorite target Jordy Nelson to be heavily involved. Rodgers will not be held down for long. He is simply too good of a football player.

The Lions’ offense has shown some nice ability this season. Matthew Stafford is leading an explosive attack who should be able to exploit a less than stellar Packers’ secondary. Cornerback Sam Shields will not play in this for Green Bay and that is a huge loss. Without Shields, the Packers simply do not have a good answer for Lions receiver Marvin Jones. I expect Jones to make a major impact in this game.

Vikings vs Packers Game: live stream, Time, TV schedule info

The Minnesota Vikings have a shiny new stadium to call home, and they’ll be playing their first regular season game at U.S. Bank Stadium under the bright lights of Sunday Night Football. They’ll meet a familiar foe in the Green Bay Packers, in a game that could have early implications for the NFC North title race.

Packers Game

The Vikings went into training camp with legitimate Super Bowl aspirations, having built a young, talented team that won the division last season. Unfortunately, they lost quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to a devastating knee injury in training camp. Scrambling for a Plan B, Minnesota made a shocking move right before the regular season, sending a first- and fourth-round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles to acquire Sam Bradford.

With Bradford cramming the playbook on short notice, Shaun Hill got the start in Week 1. He was less than impressive and Adrian Peterson got shut down by the Tennessee Titans. Fortunately, Minnesota still has a great defense that stepped up in a big way — Eric Kendricks scored a pick-six and Danielle Hunter returned a fumble for a touchdown, which was enough for the Vikings to get a 25-10 win despite scoring zero offensive touchdowns.

Head coach Mike Zimmer refuses to tip his hand as to who Minnesota’s starting quarterback will be this week. Bradford got first-team reps in practice this week so he seems to have the slight edge, but the Vikings won’t say either way. Zimmer seems intent on making the Packers game-plan for both Bradford and Hill, although neither quarterback will likely be asked to do much more than hand the ball to Peterson.

The kicking game remains a slight concern for Minnesota. Blair Walsh, who infamously shanked a chip-shot field goal in the Wild Card round, missed two more attempts last week. However, he nailed four other kicks and the 12 points were a much-needed boon for an offense that struggled moving the ball.

The defense will have a much tougher test against Aaron Rodgers and company this week. Rodgers was workmanlike in Week 1, throwing for 199 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in a 27-23 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jordy Nelson made his long-awaited comeback from a torn ACL, and while he looked rusty he still produced, grabbing six catches for 32 yards and finding the end zone. The Rodgers-Nelson connection looks as strong as ever once again.

Packers Game

These teams last met in Week 17 of last season, with the NFC North title on the line. Once again, Minnesota’s defense stepped up, with Captain Munnerlyn scoring a pick-six that made the difference in the Vikings’ 20-13 win. This time, the Vikings will have a much smaller margin for error — whether it’s Bradford or Hill under center, they need to get Peterson going if they hope to stay in the playoff race this year. Whoever gets the win Sunday night will have a good head start in the division race at this early juncture of the season.

Packers vs. 49ers live stream free: Start time, TV schedule and how to watch online

Chip Kelly is well respected around the league, with other head coaches among the only ones you’ll find who think the San Francisco 49ers might amount to something this season. To everyone else, the 49ers seem like a team that, if not in ruin, is very close to it. The quarterback battle between Colin Kaepernick and Blaine Gabbert has yet to even start due to Kaepernick’s injury, but that all may change on Friday evening when they face the Green Bay Packers.

Packers vs. 49ers

Kaepernick, who has been rehabbing a shoulder injury sustained prior to getting benched for Gabbert a season ago, has missed the first two preseason games but expects to play on Friday. How much he will play is still up in the air, but it’s likely he’ll get time with the starters to make this a real quarterback battle. Up until now, it’s been Gabbert running unopposed in front of rookie Jeff Driskel and recent free agent pickup Christian Ponder.

The 49ers are going up against a team that has the most stable quarterback situation in the league. Aaron Rodgers doesn’t carry the injury-prone label, has a long contract, boasts a Super Bowl ring and notably isn’t facing any suspensions for perhaps but possibly not but definitely deflating footballs.

Yet, for a while, Rodgers and Kaepernick looked like they might develop something of a rivalry after the 49ers took down the Packers in two consecutive postseasons. Those games did more for Kaepernick’s claim to being the 49ers’ franchise quarterback than perhaps any other, but he has fallen far since then. Maybe beating the Packers again is what he needs to get back on track.

The Packers, though, are particularly wary of injuries in the preseason after they lost Jordy Nelson to an ACL tear last year in the second preseason game. It’s no coincidence that players like Rodgers, Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers have not played yet. But they will play on Friday and will surely miss the fourth preseason game, so this is the first and only chance at seeing the starting units perform before the real season begins.

Nelson, however, is not expected to play. He is not yet cleared to return to action, but the Packers are hoping he’ll be ready for Week 1.

Friday’s game between the Packers and 49ers is the last of the day and is set to get underway at 10 p.m. ET. A live stream will be available via NFL Game Pass, but the game is not being broadcast nationally until the NFL Network joins in progress at 11 p.m.
